Job Purpose / Objective
Perform imaging examinations to a high standard, without always requiring direct supervision, in close coordination with local radiologists or other physicians, according to the place of work rules. Constantly seeks to update knowledge in line with professional best practice. Uses independent professional judgment and initiative to obtain good diagnostic quality medical imaging examinations, always within minimal acceptable radiation exposures. Acts responsibly and professionally by complying with the rules and policies.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Treat patients courteously and to work harmoniously with colleagues, patients and other hospital staff.
- Position patients appropriately for each and every imaging examination.
- Select appropriate radiation exposure factors and utilize any special features of the imaging modalities as deemed necessary for each individual case. Where necessary, equipment training will be provided.
- Assist, with suitable training and under supervision, in intravenous injection of radiographic contrast when required.
- Promptly activate local emergency code when required. Always ensure physical safety of all patients; such as never leaving patients unattended in controlled radiation areas.
- Adhere to best practice radiation protection guidance and ensure that all relevant radiation protection guidelines are complied with.
- Produce high quality diagnostic images, appropriately presented for interpretation by Radiologists.
- Must remain in work areas and be easily accessible at all times during scheduled duty periods.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the imaging equipment being utilized for work purposes, as well as surrounding areas.
- Work flexibility will be required of the candidate, from time to time, to meet the exigencies of hospital healthcare delivery.
- Provide patient and family education as per the needs.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other miscellaneous related duties that are applicable to Radiology Department and as requested by the Head of Radiology.
Education/ Professional Qualification
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional : Radiologic Technology
Experience
- At least Two (2) years of experience in a Hospital Setup. Experience in X-Ray is a must.
Professional Licensing / Certification / Training
- Certification: Relevant certificates
- Licensing: Valid Saudi Council license
