Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Web Application Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support for applications running on Apache and Microsoft IIS. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting, managing IT service management (ITSM), coordinating with vendors for regular patching and upgrades, and ensuring the security and smooth operation of web products. This role requires a proactive approach to vulnerability management, user account management, and incident monitoring and reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Web Application Support:


  • Provide comprehensive support for web applications running on Apache and Microsoft IIS.
  • Troubleshoot and promptly resolve issues related to web applications and servers.

2. Vendor Coordination:


  • Coordinate with vendors for regular patching and updates of web products.
  • Ensure timely application of security patches and updates to maintain system integrity.

3. Upgrades and Troubleshooting:


  • Plan and execute upgrades for Apache and IIS products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during and after the upgrade process.

4. Vulnerability Management:


  • Coordinate with multiple vendors and teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Apache/IIS and operating systems.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

5. IT Service Management (ITSM):


  • Manage and maintain ITSM tools to keep track of new IT assets.
  • Update ITSM with accurate and timely information regarding IT assets and their status.

6. User Account Management:


  • Manage user accounts across multiple internal systems.
  • Ensure proper access control and security measures are in place for user accounts.

7. Incident Monitoring and Reporting:


  • Monitor day-to-day incidents and alerts related to web applications and servers.
  • Provide detailed reports and analyses of incidents, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in providing support for web applications running on Apache and Microsoft IIS.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors for patching and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in managing IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Experience with user account management and ensuring proper access control.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor and report on incidents.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in relevant technologies such as Apache, IIS, or ITSM.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements related to web applications.
