Thank you for considering Smit Lamnalco as your potential employer in the marine services industry!Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for VTS Operators in the Middle East. You would be responsible to enhance the safety and efficiency of vessel traffic in the specified maritime area, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring the smooth flow of maritime operations. Responsibilities:Follow-up on arrival and departure notifications from all vessels calling the port by identified communication channels to proceed with required arrangements.Monitor ETA and ETD for all vessels as per VTS guidelines and liaise with related internal and external parties for effective resources provision.Liaise with agents and authorities for controlling the vessels movements including berthing, unberthing and shifting movements and keep tracking all fleet movements.Follow up each operation’s movements to ensure that all procedures are being applied properly.Provide continuous updates on port position by recording/documenting all movements and vessel’s status to ensure professional control and reference.Record all movements’ information into daily ship’s movement register book as per company’s procedures to ensure all data are saved properly.Immediate reporting for any obstacles/deviations in operations in terms of logistics, fleet, or time as per identified communication matrix to avoid any operational interruption.Follow up weather conditions report from various sources and report any concerns that may cause operations’ interruption.High response in emergencies, e.g. salvage, pollutions, accidents or unsecured conditions by coordinating and following up with internal and external parties to ensure the professional and effective service provision.Coordinate with port operators for vessels status and ETD, to plan for the fleet mobilization to execute movements on time. QualificationsTo be successful in this position you need to have the following:A minimum of 2-3 year's experience as a VTS OperatorVTS Operator Training IALA V-103/1Medically fit and provide necessary certificates International work experience with container terminals, previously gained in the Middle East.Fluent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
