Role Overview
The Veterinary Technician's primary responsibility is to draw blood from animals, particularly camels, and deliver the samples to the laboratory for analysis. This part-time, project-based role involves working on a case-by-case basis and traveling to different locations within Riyadh.
Job Responsibilities
Blood Collection:
· Draw blood from animals, with a focus on camels, for diagnostic and research purposes.
· Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of blood samples to maintain sample integrity.
· Transport blood samples to the designated laboratory promptly and safely.
Animal Handling:
· Safely and humanely handle and restrain animals during blood collection procedures.
· Provide care and reassurance to animals to minimize stress during procedures.
Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate and detailed records of all blood collection procedures and samples.
· Document any observations or issues encountered during the blood collection process.
Compliance and Safety:
· Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.
· Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and professional standards in veterinary care.
· Follow proper biosecurity measures to prevent contamination and spread of diseases.
