Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive UAT Tester to join our team in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our banking systems. The UAT Tester will be responsible for executing User Acceptance Testing on software applications, validating functionalities, and ensuring they meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the banking domain and a strong understanding of user-centric testing methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Requirement Analysis: Review and understand business and technical requirements, functional specifications, and regulatory guidelines for banking systems.
  • Test Planning: Develop comprehensive UAT test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and user expectations.
  • Test Execution: Conduct thorough UAT testing on banking applications, including but not limited to account management, transactions, loan processing, and mobile banking apps. Perform functional, integration, regression, and user interface testing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers to clarify requirements, provide feedback, and ensure alignment of testing activities with business objectives.
  • Defect Reporting: Document and report defects found during testing in a detailed manner, using defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), and work with developers to prioritize and resolve issues.
  • User-Centric Testing: Focus on user experience to ensure the system is intuitive, easy to navigate, and meets the needs of both internal users (bank employees) and external users (customers).
  • Security & Compliance Testing: Ensure that the application adheres to the highest standards of security and complies with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, AML laws).
  • Sign-Off and Final Validation: Conduct final validation before go-live to ensure the system is ready for production deployment. Ensure that all critical business processes function smoothly in the live environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports for future reference and audit purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of UAT processes in the future.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a UAT Tester or QA Tester in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products and services such as account management, loans, payments, credit cards, etc.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the banking industry (e.g., PCI-DSS, AML, GDPR).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with automation tools (optional but a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certification in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Familiarity with banking software platforms and applications.
  • Experience with performance and load testing.
  • Knowledge of API testing and integrations.
