The Transport Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing transport
operations within NEOM, ensuring that all activities meet the highest standards in safety,
efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of
cargo handling and transportation industry standards, technical expertise in transport systems,
and the ability to lead and improve logistics processes in a high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cargo Loading and Offloading Operations
o Ensure all cargo loading and offloading activities are carried out safely,
efficiently, and according to NEOM’s standards.
o Establish and enforce best practices in cargo handling to minimize risks and
optimize productivity.
o Conduct training and assessments for transport teams on correct loading and
unloading procedures to maintain a high level of skill and safety.
2. Industry Standards and Regulatory Compliance
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation regulations, industry standards,
and best practices, ensuring that all transport operations within NEOM, meets
compliance requirements.
o Conduct periodic audits and safety checks to ensure that vehicles, equipment, and
personnel comply with both local and international transportation regulations.
o Implement quality control processes and continuous improvement programs to
elevate operational standards.
3. Proficiency in Systems and Software
o Utilize Microsoft Office Suite effectively for advanced reporting, data analysis,
and project planning.
o Demonstrate expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle
tracking systems, and other logistics software to streamline operations, monitor
vehicle performance, and improve transport scheduling.
o Leverage data analysis tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and
generate insights for decision-making and process improvements.
4. Team Leadership and Training
o Provide leadership and direction to transport teams, ensuring high performance,
motivation, and adherence to established policies.
o Develop and conduct regular training programs for transport personnel to ensure
proficiency in cargo handling, regulatory compliance, and software use.
o Foster a safety-first culture by organizing workshops, drills, and awareness
sessions around safe transport practices and accident prevention.
5. Operational Efficiency and Optimization
o Identify and implement opportunities to improve transport workflows, including
route optimization, load consolidation, and resource allocation, to reduce costs
and increase efficiency.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as logistics, safety, and project
planning departments, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of
transport operations.
o Lead troubleshooting efforts for operational issues, providing root cause analysis
and implementing corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
6. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting
o Serve as the primary point of contact with NEOM’s project logistics team and
QHSE department, ensuring aligned standards and effective communication of
transport-related issues.
o Prepare and present reports on transport activities, performance metrics, and
compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.
o Work closely with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to manage transportation
resources and resolve logistical challenges.
7. Sustainability and Environmental Practices
o Integrate sustainable practices into transport operations, including fuel efficiency,
emissions reduction, and waste management initiatives, in line with NEOM’s
sustainability goals.
o Evaluate and recommend environmentally friendly technologies and practices that
can be adopted within the transport network.
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management,
or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transport engineering, logistics management, or a
similar role, ideally within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of transportation industry standards, cargo handling regulations, and
best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, transportation management systems, and logistics
software.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
