Job Description

JASARA PMC is currently inviting expressions of interest for the position of Traffic Engineer. As a Traffic Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and managing traffic systems to enhance safety and efficiency in transportation networks. Your expertise will contribute to the planning and execution of various projects, ensuring that traffic flow is optimized, and environmental impacts are minimized.


As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing transportation systems to ensure efficient and safe movement of people and goods. They analyze traffic data, develop transportation plans, and design road networks, intersections, and traffic control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Traffic Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret traffic data, such as traffic volumes, speeds, and accident rates. 
  • Transportation Planning: Develop transportation plans and strategies to meet the needs of a growing population and economy. 
  • Road Design: Design roads, intersections, and highways, considering factors such as safety, capacity, and environmental impact. 
  • Traffic Signal Design: Design and install traffic signals to control traffic flow and improve safety. 
  • Transportation Modeling: Develop and apply transportation models to simulate traffic flow, evaluate alternative designs, and assess the impact of transportation projects. 
  • Traffic Operations: Manage and optimize traffic operations, including traffic signal timing, lane management, and incident response. 
  • Transportation Safety: Improve transportation safety through the design of safe road features, the implementation of traffic calming measures, and the promotion of safe driving practices. 
  • Public Transportation Planning: Develop and implement public transportation systems, such as bus routes, rail lines, and bike-sharing programs. 
  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities: Design and implement pedestrian and bicycle facilities, such as sidewalks, bike lanes, and pedestrian bridges. 
  • Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct environmental impact assessments to evaluate the potential effects of transportation projects on the environment.
