Job Description
Role Summary:
The
Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for promoting Gilead’s products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) to enhance patient outcomes and build brand presence within a defined territory. With several years of field experience, the role involves engaging HCPs, executing territory plans, and supporting Gilead’s commitment to scientific excellence, integrity, and patient-centered care. This position requires effective communication, strategic planning, and alignment with Gilead’s values of integrity, inclusion, accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Promotion and Education
Promote Gilead’s therapies by effectively communicating product benefits, clinical data, and safety profiles to HCPs. Conduct detailed presentations to physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare staff, focusing on improving patient outcomes and aligning with Gilead’s patient-centric mission. Tailor product discussions to the needs and priorities of HCPs, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the disease area and Gilead’s therapeutic solutions.
Sales Target Achievement and Territory Management
Meet or exceed sales targets for the assigned territory, contributing to Gilead’s overall success in the therapy area. Develop and implement a territory plan that optimizes HCP reach and engagement, leveraging data and market insights to adjust tactics as needed. Actively analyze performance data, anticipate challenges, and use insights to maximize territory success in alignment with Gilead’s patient-first approach.
Relationship Building and Key Account Engagement
Establish and maintain strong relationships with HCPs, supporting their knowledge of Gilead’s products and fostering long-term partnerships. Work closely with high-value accounts to support patient care initiatives, build trust, and position Gilead as a reliable partner in the therapy Area. Engage with KOLs (key opinion leaders) and healthcare decision-makers to provide support, share best practices, and promote responsible product usage.
Market Intelligence and Insights Sharing
Collect and communicate market intelligence, including competitor activity, HCP feedback, and shifts in patient needs, to support Gilead’s strategy. Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access teams, sharing insights to ensure Gilead’s offerings align with current healthcare priorities. Proactively identify market changes or emerging trends, providing suggestions to enhance territory and sales strategy.
Compliance, Integrity, and Reporting
Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and Gilead’s ethical standards, ensuring responsible product promotion. Accurately document sales activities, HCP interactions, and progress against goals, upholding Gilead’s standards for accountability. Address inquiries and challenges with transparency, acting as a representative of Gilead’s commitment to integrity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Representative. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with HCPs and healthcare partners. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital engagement platforms. Willingness to travel within the designated territory as required.
