Key Accountabilities
- Drive the tendering process from start to finish, ensuring timely submission of competitive proposals.
- Evaluate project requirements, scope, and technical specifications related to substations and other electrical infrastructure.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and legal, to develop winning proposals.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential challenges during the tendering process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
- Collaborate with legal teams to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
- Take charge of all technical and commercial aspects of the bid during the inquiry-to-order phase.
- Lead interactions with stakeholders, including Engineering, Project Management, Commercial Operation, Finance, Legal, and Regional Sales teams. Establish commercial and execution strategies, identify pricing, margins, and contract structures. Engage in customer-facing sales activities.
- Ensure that the proposals align with customer requirements both commercially and technically. Adhere to company risk management and Environmental Health and Safety governance.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of products, projects, technologies, sales processes, markets, and commercial strategies.
- Make proposal decisions within defined frameworks while maximizing the chance of success. Leverage multiple sources for informed choices.
- Ensure a clean handoff to the execution team.
Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of leadership experience in tendering/bidding within the Energy Industry.
- Experience working on projects related to substations is essential.
- Demonstrated involvement in projects related to the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
- Strong process orientation and familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Possess a keen understanding of commercial aspects and growth strategies.
- Proven negotiation skills for successful contract discussions.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
