Job Description

The Technical & Contract Manager for the Landscape Department is a leadership role that combines technical expertise and contract management. This position ensures that all projects are delivered according to technical standards, contractual terms, and financial objectives. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and delivering measurable results by coordinating between technical teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Management

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of detailed technical proposals, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Ensure strict adherence to technical standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct technical reviews to identify opportunities for optimization in project designs and execution.
  • Review and Approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material selections in collaboration with the procurement team.

Contract Management

  • Review, and negotiate project contracts to align with the company’s strategic objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor contract execution and enforce compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Manage tendering processes, including bid preparation, submission, and post-bid clarifications.
  • Resolve contract-related issues, including variations, claims, and disputes, while ensuring timely approvals.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all contractual activities, including change orders and cost implications.
  • Conduct cost analyses to verify budgets align with contractual obligations.

Operational Leadership

  • Monitor project performance to meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks.
  • Develop and present regular performance reports, highlighting risks, opportunities, and financial updates.
  • Act as the primary interface between technical teams, operations staff, and senior management, ensuring streamlined communication and execution.
  • Lead and oversee both the Quantity Surveying (QS) and Planning departments, ensuring coordination and alignment with project goals.
  • Provide guidance to the QS team in managing cost estimation, interim payments, variations, and final accounts.
  • Support the Planning department in developing detailed schedules, monitoring progress, and identifying risks and delays.
  • Strengthen client relationships to enhance satisfaction and secure long-term business partnerships.
