Project Overview:


Air Products, ACWA Power and NEOM have jointly agreed to develop a world-scale green hydrogen production facility powered by renewable electricity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to produce green hydrogen fuels in various forms, including green ammonia for power generation or as a hydrogen carrier, for export to international markets. NEOM is an ideal location for its unique combination and availability of wind and solar power, with a combined capacity factor higher than 70%, a critical factor in lowering the final cost of green ammonia to acceptable levels


 Job Summary:


In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractors management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.


The tank erection Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the tanks discipline. Entry level supervision and directs tanks craft, subordinate supervisors, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction performance is following specifications and within schedules and budgets.


Major Responsibilities:


Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.


Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.


Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.


Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.


Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.


Works with construction field Engineers, Foremen, and craft professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents


Provide ES&H leadership to personnel assigned to the tank and storage area. This includes preparation and implementation of safety procedures.


Champion the cause of ZERO accident philosophy. Ensure that Air product and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.


Responsible for the implementation of project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.


Ensures current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design


changes are approved prior to implementation.


Monitor work activities to ensure the safety and quality of work performed and compliance with project specifications.


Provide input to quantity tracking applications and review weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.


Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate tanks personnel.


Education and Experience Requirements:


Requires a degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience on large tank erection , with experience and full understanding of tank erection jacking systems.


Minium Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge and experience of construction methods of full containment large scale tank construction which includes knowledge of carbon steel tank and welding, roof


construction,hydrotesting & jacking operations .


Working in a field construction environment understanding specifications, vendor procedures, instructions & codes with working knowledge of API-620, API-625 & ACI 376 -11


Knowledge of welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, SAW


Technical knowledge of tank building equipment and tools.


Knowledge of requirements for cryogenic tank erection


Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet applications.


Ability to work with multi-national employees and across different languages.


Ability to train less experienced team members and provide mentorship to others.


Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.


Additional Information:


Work requires the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Understanding of lifting is a requirement .


Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not limited to nightshift or split shift.
