The System Analysis Expert will provide technical expertise in system analysis (engineered safety features, electrical power systems, auxiliary systems and civil structures, and steam and power conversion systems) to support the early interaction with the Applicant in view of the construction license of the LNPP (Large Nuclear Power Plant ), the review and assessment of the relevant submittals within the construction license application. The expert will also provide on-the-job training and tutoring for relevant staff in his/her area of expertise.

Key Accountabilities- Provide technical expertise in analyzing nuclear power plant systems, including engineered safety features, electrical power systems, auxiliary systems, civil structures, and steam and power conversion systems.
- Engage with Applicants early to agree on applicable standards and support the review and assessment of relevant chapters in the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR).
- Offer technical expertise in nuclear safety system analysis to enhance capacity development.
- Create training programs and materials to facilitate on-the-job training for staff involved in reviewing and assessing PSAR chapters related to system analysis.
- Support the development of safety evaluation reports by training staff and providing expertise.
Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceWe are Looking for:
- Advanced University degree in science, technology, engineering, maths, or a related field to system analysis.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear science/engineering within a nuclear safety context and experience in developing and implementing regulatory framework and processes for nuclear installations with particular aspects of system analysis.
- Good knowledge of the main systems of a nuclear power plant and their operation.
- Good knowledge of the Nuclear Safety framework and infrastructure required to support the development of a Nuclear Power program including experience in the licensing process and regulatory oversight.
- Experience in the review and assessment of NPP safety analysis report, in particular the chapters relevant to engineered safety features, electrical power systems, auxiliary systems and civil structures, and steam and power conversion systems.
- Experience in working with and supporting countries embarking on a nuclear power program using the relevant IAEA safety standards such as SSR-2/1 (Rev.1), SSG-34, SSG-53, and SSG-62.
- Practical experience in the development and implementation of nuclear safety and regulatory framework technical documents, including relevant IAEA safety standards.
- Experience in successfully implementing complex technical/scientific projects.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
