Job Description

Sustainability Strategy Development:

Strategy Formulation: Develop and implement the organization’s sustainability strategy and objectives in alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
Goal Setting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability and track progress towards achieving sustainability goals.

Environmental Impact Assessment:

Impact Analysis: Assess the environmental impact of organizational activities and identify opportunities for reducing resource consumption and waste generation.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on environmental performance, sustainability metrics, and compliance to senior management and stakeholders.

Sustainability Programs and Initiatives:

Program Management: Lead and manage sustainability programs, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and green building practices.
Initiative Implementation: Oversee the implementation of sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into daily operations and projects.

Regulatory Compliance:

Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that the organization complies with environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sustainability and environmental compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaboration: Work with internal departments, including facilities, operations, and procurement, to integrate sustainability practices into their processes.
External Communication: Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community groups, and customers, to promote sustainability efforts and address any concerns.

Training and Education:

Employee Training: Develop and deliver training programs and materials to educate employees about sustainability practices and their role in achieving sustainability goals.
Awareness Campaigns: Implement awareness campaigns to promote sustainability initiatives and encourage employee participation.

Data Collection and Analysis:

Data Management: Collect and analyze data related to environmental performance, resource usage, and sustainability initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Use data insights to drive continuous improvement in sustainability practices and identify areas for enhancement.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

Sustainable Sourcing: Work with procurement to establish and manage sustainability criteria for vendors and suppliers.
Partnerships: Develop partnerships with external organizations and experts to support and enhance sustainability initiatives.

Innovation and Best Practices:

Trend Analysis: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability and incorporate them into the organization’s strategy.
Innovation: Promote innovative solutions and technologies that can improve sustainability performance and reduce environmental impact.

Skills

Technical Expertise:

Sustainability Knowledge: In-depth understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and best practices.
Environmental Science: Knowledge of environmental science, resource management, and green technologies.

Project Management:

Program Management: Experience in managing sustainability programs and projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Goal Setting: Ability to set and achieve sustainability goals and targets.

Communication:

Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Influence: Ability to influence and motivate others to adopt and support sustainability practices.

Analytical Skills:

Data Analysis: Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data related to environmental performance and sustainability metrics.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address sustainability challenges and drive improvements.

Educational Background:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) are preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in sustainability management, environmental compliance, or a related role, with a track record of successful program implementation and performance improvement.
