Job Description
Job Summary: As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting accurate measurements and assessments of land, structures, and infrastructure to support construction, engineering, and development projects. Your expertise in surveying techniques and technologies will ensure precise data collection and analysis, contributing to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Survey Operations:
- Conduct land surveys using advanced surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
- Perform topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout surveys according to project specifications and surveying standards.
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect field data and measurements, including elevation, distances, angles, and coordinates, using surveying equipment and techniques.
- Analyze survey data and prepare accurate maps, charts, and reports for use by engineers, architects, and project managers.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey measurements through rigorous quality control measures.
- Verify survey data against established benchmarks and reference points to minimize errors and discrepancies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of survey activities, measurements, and field notes.
- Prepare comprehensive survey reports, drawings, and documentation for submission to clients, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise and Support:
- Provide technical support and expertise to project teams regarding surveying matters, including land use planning, site development, and construction activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate survey data into project design and development processes.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate survey findings, recommendations, and limitations to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction through proactive engagement and responsiveness.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices in surveying operations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, land surveying standards, and ethical guidelines governing surveying practices.
Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional licensure or certification (e.g., Licensed Land Surveyor) may be required.
- Proven experience in land surveying, including field survey operations and data analysis.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments and equipment, as well as surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS).
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies, including legal boundaries and land tenure systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in survey measurements and calculations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
