Role Purpose
Working closely with the manager of the Strategy and Engagement office, this position will lead, support, and/or coordinate the implementation of the NEOM Region Environment Strategy. This role will also work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and functional teams to implement defined initiatives and ensure policies are understood and executed. Ensure appropriate analytical support is provided by internal stakeholders to optimise processes and drive efficiencies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Tasks:
- Support the execution and implementation of the Environment strategy and drive measurable impact to the business.
- Map out all the Strategy Initiatives against the Dept. Implementation Plan and Budget.
- Oversee the execution of the Environment Department strategic initiatives and ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Track and report the overall performance of the Dept. against the Environment Strategy Objectives.
- Synthesize analysis into practical business strategies and communicate to senior leadership and cross functional partners.
- Take creative approaches to develop practical solutions to complex problems to ensure the continued growth of the department.
- Develop a strategic framework to facilitate the evaluation of the environment's strategic performance, identify the gap and risk to support decisions, and present final recommendations to the high management team.
- Support the development of the strategic roadmap, working in partnership with the leadership.
- Align initiatives under a single plan to articulate linkages to wide initiatives.
- Support the process of developing the building blocks of the strategic plan including working with finance to ensure the financial impact of each component is projected.
- Support the development and implementation of change management plan(s) during the initial period of regulatory transition from Base Economy
- Implement project controls to ensure that objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and technical reviews.
- Work collaboratively to help achieve the objectives.
BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Ability to take a structured and data driven approach to solving complex business problems.
- Skilled in project management and coordination
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Arabic and English (verbal and written) mandatory.
- Expert in PowerPoints, Excel, and Word; bonus points if you have experience with SQL, Looker, or Tableau / Power BI.
- Ability to work in complex organizations and collaborate across a matrix organization.
- Experience in sustainability performance reporting or environmental/ sustainability performance management and implementation or similar
- Understanding of UN Sustainable Development Goals and a broader knowledge of environmental, social, and economic sustainability
- Be able to coordinate and lead projects with moderate oversight.
- Enthusiastic, honest, personable, positive attitude, punctuality, and accuracy
- Passion for environmental protection, sustainability
Qualifications
- BSc. in Environmental Science/ Business / Sustainable Planning & Development/ Architecture/ Engineering/ Environmental Policy or related
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience (employment and/or internship) in the Middle East, preferably in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
