Job Description

Role Purpose:


The Strategic Healthcare Partner (SHP) will report into the Commercial Operations Director while working in close collaboration with the Tender and KAM Lead, to take a holistic, long-term view of partnerships with the prioritized healthcare institutions and systems to collaborate on initiatives that will meet the healthcare needs of the patients served by the institutions or systems. This will enable the ongoing availability of Pfizer medicines through commercial discussions and agreements.


The SHP’s mindset is driven by customer-centricity and collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:


Key Healthcare Institutions and Systems Engagement:


  • Develops innovative solutions to complex problems impacting a Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
  • Exercises own judgment and is a resource for others.  Works independently with assignments often self-initiated
  • Identifies key Customers, including decision making and influencing network.
  • Understands the needs, challenges, priorities of the leadership of the Key institutions.
  • Leads the long-term, consultative, senior executive institution and system relationship to become the trusted business partner and advisor.

Leadership:


  • Takes a short to mid to long-term view of Pfizer’s business, aligning the strategy across Pfizer BUs.
  • Ensures high quality customer engagement and support of prioritized customers through strategic use of both in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Responsible for identifying areas of joint interest that support a legitimate unmet patient need and designing and executing partnership approaches to meet those needs.
  • By partnering with needed Pfizer cross-functional teams, the SHP leads the development of a strategic and holistic plan for the institution and the co-creation of innovative solutions to meet the key institutions and healthcare priorities in those areas of joint interest supporting a legitimate unmet patient or institutional need aligned to the Pfizer portfolio
  • As appropriate, the SHP proactively brings the right SMEs and other Pfizer capabilities together, in order to address customer needs in a timely way to achieve mutual goals.

Strategy:


  • Creates an environment where innovation is standard taking appropriate risks to advance innovative processes
  • Develops innovative solutions to complex problems impacting a Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
  • Exercises own judgment and is a resource for others.  Works independently with assignments often self-initiated
  • Evaluates, research and forecast common trends, opportunities in the Governmental accounts.
  • Works with cross functional teams to evaluate and analyze key competitor’s activities to build industry leading partnership approach.
  • In collaboration with cross functional teams, supports with his/her functional expertise in price discussions, brand value, added services messages for key brands portfolio, in order to support Tender Lead in contract negotiations.
  • Collaborates with Learning & Development to develop account focused differentiation messaging curriculum to enhance engagement with Key Accounts from ‘Payer’ and ‘Material’ management perspective.
  • Based on research results, develops targeted programs and partnership initiatives with Payers, Supply chain management, Material management stakeholders.
  • Drives evolution of commercial account model, through collaboration with brand strategy.     
    • Clarify/prioritize/ agree key segments/groups (Retail; Tender).
    • Support in quality execution of Account plans, by building, executing and monitoring above brand engagement programs as per the account needs defined by the Account Managers.
  • Supports in coordination with cross functional teams – Marketing, H&V, Medical to develop materials and solutions, for non-prescribing customers or large organized customers.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all key identified stakeholders.
  • Supports Tender Lead in management of vendors and contracts for above brand commercial and digital initiatives, programs and partnerships.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or medicine. Business Management degree is an advantage.
  • Minimumof 8 years experience in commercial functions like sales, marketing, and Retail with successful performance track records.
  • Minimum 5 years of Governmental Key Account Management experience is preferable.
  • Requires exceptional knowledge of own discipline and advanced knowledge of others and applies these skills to ensure a Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit meets its goals
  • Well versed with technological innovations in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare segment.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Healthcare and Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
  • Computer literate: Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.
  • Saudi Market Experience is an advantage
