Job Description

The Storekeeper plays a vital role in managing inventory and ensuring that stock levels are maintained to meet the operational needs of the business. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently handle the storage, organization, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. The Storekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and dispatch of materials, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is essential for supporting the overall supply chain and logistics operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  2. Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels in the inventory management system.
  3. Organize and store products in designated areas to optimize space and accessibility.
  4. Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers or other departments.
  5. Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to identify discrepancies and manage inventory levels.
  6. Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Assist in the development and improvement of inventory management processes.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to forecast inventory needs and manage stock accordingly.
  9. Train and supervise junior staff in warehouse operations and inventory management.
  10. Prepare reports on inventory status and provide recommendations for stock replenishment.
