We are looking for a talented and skilled SMP QC Laboratory Technician to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. Y
ou will be responsible for inspecting and/or tests in-process melt, through a variety of acceptable inspection and testing standards using various instruments and steelmaking laboratory equipment, primarily SPECTROMETER.Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow the rules and procedures for the activities of the Quality Control Department to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Prepares and operates spectrometer for analysis of metal samples from the different stages of steelmaking.
- Preparation of sample according to procedure and work manual.
- Operates SMP Laboratory equipment, i.e., grinding machine, polishing machine, fume hood, and pneumatic transport system.
- Monitors performance of spectrometer and its ancillary equipment for needed actions.
- Monitors and calibrates / verifies laboratory equipment and report any abnormalities or irregularities.
- Conduct periodic inventory of chemicals, instrument parts, supplies and other consumables.
- Closely coordinates with Production for online production and finished product sample for quality testing.
- Records daily quality results.
- Compiles data to generate customer reports and quality trends.
- Ensures compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Job Qualification:
- At least graduate of a 3-year Technical Course in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Industrial Technology or its equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ work experience in inspection, testing and analytical instruments
- Good communication skills, laboratory equipment operation skills, dexterity to handle measuring instruments and devices, good mathematical, analytical and organizational skills, decisiveness and sound judgement and computer literate.
