Job Summary: As a Senior Quality Control Engineer (Vendor), you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our vendors consistently deliver products and services that meet our stringent quality standards. Your expertise in quality assurance and meticulous attention to detail will safeguard our reputation for excellence in every aspect of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Lead the charge in maintaining and improving our quality management systems across vendor relationships.
- Develop and implement robust quality control processes and procedures to uphold our high standards.
- Vendor Evaluation and Qualification:
- Conduct thorough assessments and audits to evaluate vendor capabilities and compliance with quality requirements.
- Establish criteria and benchmarks for vendor performance evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Control Inspections:
- Perform detailed inspections and tests on incoming materials, components, and finished products to verify adherence to specifications.
- Analyze inspection data and collaborate with vendors to address quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Process Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within vendor operations.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance quality control measures and reduce defects.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of quality control activities, inspection results, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives for management review.
- Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and production, to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to vendors on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure vendors adhere to industry regulations and standards throughout the supply chain.
Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) may be preferred.
- Extensive experience in quality control, vendor management, or related roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., statistical analysis, root cause analysis).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across organizational levels.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to influence and drive change in quality initiatives.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and achieving measurable results in quality performance.
