Job Purpose
Lead the implementation of industrialization standards in coordination with the Business Unit, ensuring adherence to manufacturing policy and relevant standards. Setting standard times and routing for manufacturing operations, planning production processes, calculating required resources, and executing improvement initiatives and best practices.
Key Accountability Areas
Work Measurement Studies and Cost Impact:
- Revise the work measurement studies conducted by the industrial engineers and verify that the impact on cost is calculated properly.
Technical Expertise in Process Planning:
- Support the team with technical expertise in identifying alternative methods for any component manufacturing as part of process planning activities.
Resource Calculation and "Make or Buy" Analysis:
- Revise the resources calculation and the "make or buy analysis."
- Direction and Priorities for Continuous Improvement:
- Agree with the business unit on the direction and priorities to derive continuous improvement initiatives and link them to the main objectives.
Monthly Meetings and Objective Monitoring:
- Conduct monthly meetings with the business unit management for monitoring and follow-up of the common objectives between IED and BU.
Production Process Optimization:
- Initiate and coordinate optimization of production processes within the business units.
Employee Engagement and Idea Implementation:
- Encourage employees to come up with ideas for improving activities and implementing them, promoting independence and self-confidence.
Validation of Production Equipment Requests:
- Validate the requests for new production equipment requirements from the BU, prepare the business cases, plan the layout, and consider infrastructure requirements as part of the decision-making process.
Documentation and Operator Guidance:
- Support the industrial engineer in the formalization of manufacturing process-related documents guiding operators for efficient and effective work execution (e.g., Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, work instructions, job cards, etc.).
Variance Investigation:
- Investigate, along with the production and finance teams, any variance that could result in unoptimized usage of manpower, machine, or material.
Implementation of Best Manufacturing Practices:
- Coordinate with the business unit for the implementation of recognized best manufacturing practices and monitor their deployment effectiveness, such as 6S, Kaizen, etc.
Role Accountability
HR Proficiency:
- Training of sub-ordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
- Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
- Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale, motivation of subordinates.
Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving:
- Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Quality:
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
Business Process Improvements:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Safety:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering
