Job Purpose
Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of press and related machinery. Ensuring optimal production efficiency, coordinating with the production team, analyzing and reporting on achievements, and contributing to the overall quality management system.
Key Accountability Areas
Team Supervision, Training & Guidance:
- Ensure the preventive maintenance of the section as outlined in the program provided by the Press Supervisor and conduct breakdown maintenance when necessary.
- Troubleshoot press/dryer-related machinery.
- Assist the Press Supervisor in the installation of equipment related to P&D and plant operations.
- Verify the availability of all spare parts related to press and dryer or bring attention to any shortages to the Press Supervisor.
- Discuss production and quality issues with press foremen and operators.
- Monitor and optimize the manpower in the Press department.
- Prepare daily production reports.
Coordination with Production Team:
- Maintain close coordination with the Production Team to ensure smooth production according to schedules.
- Collaborate with the Production Team to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to address issues.
Achievement Report Analyses:
- Maintain a checklist for the preventive maintenance of all press and related machinery, record the information in relevant forms, and submit it to the Press Supervisor.
- Ensure an optimal stock of molds and punches.
- Execute tasks assigned by management as needed.
Quality Management:
- Ensure the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of Quality Management System processes.
- Report to the Manager on the performance of the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that everyone in the department is aware of customer requirements.
Role Accountability
HR Proficiency:
- Training of sub-ordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
- Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
- Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale, motivation of subordinates.
Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving:
- Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Business Process Improvements:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Health, Safety and Environment:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
