Summary
The Social Media Operations Lead plays a key role within the Social Media department at NEOM and is responsible for executing the overall Social Media strategy. The role directly/indirectly covers workstreams such as social content management, campaign management, community management, social listening, and paid social operations.
Social Media is playing a key role in building awareness and understanding of NEOM in domestic and international markets, as well as building and protecting the Brand’s online reputation
Position description and responsibilities
Strategic
- Manage the NEOM Masterbrand social media channels across 7 platforms.
- Responsible for the implementation of the social media strategy
- Day to External agency management
- Develop quarterly content road maps based on pre-approved content themes and pillars
Operational
- Work closely with the Head of Social Media on achieving NEOM’s social media, marketing and communications objectives.
- Serve as primary point of contact with appointed social media agency and manage day-to-day communications and deliverables.
- Lead day to day content and community management operations.
- Oversee the development quarterly content road maps based on pre-approved content themes and pillars
- Manage the development and delivery of monthly content calendars and weekly content plans by the agency
- Manage the overall content delivery, from planning, to execution and launch; including all various level of approvals.
- Work closely with the NEOM’s Comms team on all corporate announcements to be covered on Social in a timely manner.
- Work with internal stakeholders across the organization to support and amplify key messages on each channel
- Ability to re-purpose social media content for different social media platforms based on deep understanding how content is consumed differently on each channel
- Ideation on quick wins and reactive / agile content creation
- Oversee community management on NEOM’s social media channels ensuring timely responses and moderation by the Social agency
- Execute the Social Media roll-out for NEOM’s upcoming hero brand campaigns
- Overseeing the development of in-house and outsourced creative materials
- Define and optimize the overall scope of work for NEOM Social Media agencies as well as other project-specific agencies and production houses
- Work with NEOM’s sectors and regions to ensure they’re running best-in-class social media operation
- Act as ‘Entity Success Manager’ within NEOM’s central social media team and work closely with NEOM’s sectors and regions to ensure they’re equipped to have a successful social media set-up and operation
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 5-7 years of concentrated experience managing corporate social media channels
- Social Media experience within Tourism, FMCG, Retail/Property or hospitality industry.
- English language, Arabic is strongly desirable.
- A proven track record in developing and executing Social Media Strategies
- Experience in tourism would be beneficial.
- Excellent project management skills
- A proven track record in agency management and internal stakeholder engagement.
- Experience of working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferable however not mandatory.
- Deep understanding of the Saudi/region social media landscape and culture nuances.
- Experience within an International corporate environment is desirable
