Site Safety Officer

You as a Site Safety Officer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will be working on sites and facility for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines in a workplace, promoting a safe working environment by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures. Your primary goal is to establish a safe workplace according to company and legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety. Supporting the HE certified investigator in investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Demonstrating the use of safety equipment and encouraging the workforce to use it. Your responsibilities Implementing Hitachi Energy (HE) and applicable local Safety Policies at sites. Assessing risks associated with projects to identify or mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. Conducting HSE toolbox talk at site and facility as per the plan. Conducting Audits and inspections at sites and facility as per the plan to ensure compliance with applicable HE and local HSE standards. Performing HE Lifesaving rules inspections as per the plan. Ensuring HSE KPIs are reported as per HE reports timelines. In case of occurrence, Timely reporting HSE incidents as per the HE incident reporting guidelines at workplace. Investigating HSE incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Monitoring and maintaining record of Emergency equipment at work location. Checking for Safe rigging planning and arrangement for loading, unloading and material handling. Practicing providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting. Demonstrating the usage of safety equipment and encouraging the workforce to use it. Your background A Diploma in HSE or equivalent. 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in HSE function. Knowledgeable with all safety norms or rules (e.g. OSHA etc.). Job safety analysis. Knowledgeable with rigging signals. Knowledgeable with ISO-45001 and 14001. NEBOSH IGC certification will be an added advantage. Application of Industry knowledge and best practice. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language is required.
