Job Description
Job Summary: The Site Engineer - Civil is responsible for overseeing construction activities and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Supervision:
- Supervise daily construction activities, including site preparation, earthworks, structural works, and finishing activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify workmanship and materials conform to project requirements.
- Implement corrective actions and quality improvement measures as necessary.
- Schedule and Progress Monitoring:
- Monitor project progress and schedule milestones.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Safety Management:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address safety concerns promptly.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to construction teams on engineering issues and challenges.
- Resolve technical queries and issues related to construction activities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate project status to project managers and stakeholders.
- Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Monitor project costs and expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project budget utilization.
- Client and Stakeholder Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, architects, and regulatory authorities.
- Address client inquiries, participate in meetings, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification may be preferred.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or related role in civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
