Job Summary
The Operation Engineer is responsible for all electrical / mechanical installation works for all EMD/LCD system projects.
Based on his experience, he is expected to provide coaching to junior engineers and technicians on site.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Read & interpret Shop drawings, diagrams, material submittals & product manuals prior to commencement of works.
- Cross check the systems/Installation material list against AFC drawings & approved Material Submittals to ensure that all relevant systems/installation material delivered to Assign daily & weekly activities to the various construction groups/sub-contractors
- Raise Work Permits in coordination with EHS supervisor prior to start of erection works
- Arrange for all the tools, scaffolding, etc... needed prior to start of works
- Prepare Installation Method Statements
- Review all Material Requests coming from Sub-Contractors prior to forwarding to his Superior for his final approval
- Attend Weekly meetings with Main Contractor along with SAS PM & his superior
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly updates on the progress of works on site to his Superior for his review prior to forwarding to PM & Planning Engineer Responsible to closely monitor the quality of works executed by the construction team and subcontractors
- Plan Weekly/Monthly activities with his Superior as well as Sub-contractors and ensure that all pre-requisites needed for timely kick-off of works in terms of Engineering, System/Installation Material, resources are readily available prior to commencement of works Carry daily site walk around with his superior & foremen to ensure smooth execution of works Review Monthly Invoice & Time attendance sheets of Sub-Contractors MP
- Responsible to coordinate with other contractors on site and ensure smoothness of works
- He should strictly implement Project's Plan/Schedule of works and take necessary corrective action in case of any delays.
- Keep track of Installation, Inspection, Troubleshooting, T&C, and Maintenance of all Systems/Packages throughout lifecycle of the project
- Coordinate with QA/QC Engineer to schedule all RFIs and final inspections of works and ensure that all relevant documentation are signed and archived
- Responsible to close all NCRs and snag lists in coordination with the QA/QC Engineers, Site Engineers, and SAS foremen.
- Review Cause & Effect matrix for various fire/security systems and assist in implementation of the same in coordination with T&C team.
- Supervise the internal inspection prior to system energization
- T-Supervise the system trouble shooting prior to involvement of T&C teams
- Coordinate with T&C team to schedule all testing & commissioning activities and ensure that all relevant documentation are signed and archived Responsible to request all tools required to execute the job.
- Schedule & manage periodical maintenance & services works of all commissioned system until final handover of the project.
- Prepare along with his Superior Monthly progress invoices & ensure availability of all supporting documents
- Prepare all Potential Claims and variations in coordination with his Superior
- Prepare all RED marked drawings in coordination with the site team
- Responsible to enforce site SHE plan in coordination with EHS Supervisor.

Skills
Bachelors Degree in Electronic / Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Considerable Knowledge in Security / Fire Alarm / Fire Fighting System
