About the job SERVICENOW SERVICE MAPPING SPECIALIST

Job Summary:


The ServiceNow Service Mapping Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Service Mapping solutions within the ServiceNow platform. This role involves collaborating with various IT teams to ensure accurate and effective mapping of IT services and applications, ensuring the visibility and health of critical business services.


Key Responsibilities:


Service Mapping Implementation:


  • Design, develop, and implement Service Mapping processes to discover and map business services to underlying IT components.
  • Configure ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to ensure accurate and automated discovery of infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and maintain patterns and probes for effective service mapping.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Work closely with IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Application teams to gather requirements and ensure proper service mapping.
  • Collaborate with CMDB teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity within the ServiceNow CMDB.

Monitoring and Optimization:


  • Monitor Service Mapping processes and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous and accurate mapping.
  • Optimize service maps for performance and accuracy, ensuring they reflect real-time environments.

Documentation and Training:


  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Service Mapping configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide training and support to IT teams on Service Mapping processes and best practices.

Compliance and Governance:


  • Ensure Service Mapping practices align with organizational policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct regular audits of service maps to ensure compliance with data standards.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:


  • 3-5 years of experience working with ServiceNow, specifically in Service Mapping and Discovery.
  • Experience with CMDB and ITOM modules in ServiceNow.

Skills:


  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications:


  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Service Mapping (preferred).
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
