ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Strategy & Operations Manager is responsible for driving strategic planning, business development, and operational efficiency across the project. This role ensures that business objectives align with overarching corporate goals while identifying opportunities for growth, optimizing business processes, and supporting the leadership team in key decision-making.
The position works closely with executive leadership, functional heads, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and transformation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the project’s long-term vision and business objectives.
- Support the Senior Leadership in defining key priorities and driving execution plans across multiple business functions.
- Conduct in-depth market and industry analysis to identify growth opportunities and operational improvements.
- Ensure alignment between corporate strategy and project execution, facilitating clear communication of objectives.
Business Development & Growth
- Identify and pursue business partners that enhance the project’s scope, efficiency, and project delivery.
- Develop relationships with potential stakeholders to explore collaborations and strategic alliances.
- Oversee the resource planning operating model, feasibility, optimization and financial models to support the project.
- Work with commercial teams to assess contract opportunities, optimize financial planning, and drive sustainable project expansion.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as a key liaison between the project leadership, corporate teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and decision-making.
- Collaborate with project directors, department heads, and functional teams to align business priorities and facilitate cross-functional coordination.
- Prepare high-level reports, executive briefings, and presentations for leadership and key stakeholders.
Operational Efficiency & Transformation
- Drive business transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, optimize processes, and enhance collaboration across departments.
- Identify and implement operational improvements that support cost reduction, performance enhancement, and streamlined workflows.
- Support functional teams in addressing bottlenecks, improving resource allocation, and enhancing productivity.
Performance & Risk Management
- Work closely with the Project Controls team to monitor project performance, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and financial targets.
- Implement performance tracking mechanisms to measure business operations, efficiency, and key project deliverables.
- Collaborate with functional teams to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing corrective actions to optimize operational performance.
- Ensure regular reporting and insights on project performance, business operations, and risk management for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Leadership & People Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Lead a cross-functional team responsible for business operations, growth initiatives, and strategy execution.
- Identify talent gaps, recommend training programs, and drive professional development initiatives.
Light-Touch Governance & Compliance
- Support collaboration with the governance team to ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Work with governance and risk teams to align strategic initiatives with corporate frameworks without direct governance oversight.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or business development, preferably within large-scale construction, infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of leading business operations, strategic growth initiatives, and process optimizations.
- Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and reporting structures.
- Strong understanding of business development, financial modeling, and market expansion strategies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Ability to drive business development initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
