1. JOB DETAILS:

Position Title: Senior Specialist Maintenance

Broad Band: M10: Professional

Talent Pipeline Layer: Manage Self Operational (MS)

2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation.

3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualification: 

1. Diploma in Instrument Technical School or Equivalent.

2. Maths and Science is desirable

3. Trade test + 2 Years experience as Senior Technician (subject to personal performance)

12 Years relevant experience

* Routinely inspect and test equipment/machinery/fixtures, using applicable(discipline specific) testing equipment/tools

* Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test, analyse, repair and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures 
* Perform and oversee routine service requirements 
* Troubleshooting: determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it 
* Execute and oversee repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix and reassemble of machines/equipment 
* Examine (own and colleagues') workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements 
* Perform ad-hoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns) 
* Execute and oversee discipline specific artisan work during projects 
* Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures 
* Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs and/or maintenance 
* Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning 
* Independently analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications

* Read and comply to work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance
