Role


As Senior Specialist, HSQE you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards, maintain health and safety regulations, and comply with environmental laws. This role involves creating, implementing, and overseeing policies and programs related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) practices. You will work closely with various departments to promote a safe and efficient workplace, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with both local and international standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist in compliance reviews, risk assessments and other safety assessments to support QHSE management.
  • Maintain relevant QHSE documentation and Prepare applicable QHSE reports as necessary.
  • Implement QHSE compliance relating to local municipal legislation, regulation, and international standards.
  • Support and advise QHSE non-compliance and remedial action to the management team.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis and escalate significant risks.
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant QHSE training (toolbox talks and inductions)
  • Observe the DSV QHSE guidelines and ensure that employees comply accordingly (PPE requirements, safe work process and risk assessment).
  • Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and municipal regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct daily QHSE inspections and provide instruction/guidance when required.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Risk Assessments focusing on the followinghigh risk’ work processes. i.e.

Electrical work (Risk Assessment, LOTO).


Working at height (Risk Assessment, fall prevention, protection, restraint).


Crane lift operations (Risk Assessment, lift planning, equipment inspection).


Hot Work (Risk Assessment, permit to work, fire prevention/suppression).


Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment when required.


Educational Qualifications & Certifications:


  • Minimum bachelor’s degree\Diploma in Science (preferable)
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar position
  • Preferably Internal Officer for EMS & OHSAS.

Competencies


  • Knowledge of the occupational safety standard practices, processes, tools, equipment, and related materials
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to a variety of warehouses.
  • Knowledge of inspection/ investigative techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Articulate - ability to write procedures and reports.
