Job Description

Position Purpose :


Assist and support the Safety Manager on the development, review, update and execution of KAAUH safety management program, KAAUH fire & life safety management program, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international safety regulation.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


  • Supervise the implementation, refinement and administration of Safety-FMS Department safety management program, fire and life safety management program, plans, policies and procedures
  • Supervise safety inspection program to identify safety hazards, routine healthcare facilities assessments to assess risks, incident investigations, close out of corrective actions and oversee all environmental rounds and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Ensure that the facility is compliant with fire safety standard as required by the Saudi Civil Defense, Joint Commission International Standard for Accreditation and the Central Board for Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions.
  • Provide all new and current employee fire safety orientations and training, and assist in the development of materials relating to these presentations.
  • Examines plans and specifications for healthcare facility new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included and met.
  • Supervise design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire management systems such as fire protections system and fire preventions systems.
  • Supervised the enforcement of interim life safety policy and infection control risk assessments in all KAAUH healthcare facilities demolition, construction and renovation 
  • Order suspension of activities that pose threats and compromise the patients, families, visitor and staffs' health and safety. 
  • Participates in performance improvement, information management activities and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to conduct ongoing safety tours of clinical and nonclinical areas. 
  • Respond to fire emergency or incident and other related emergency matters. 
  • Respect patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
  • Participate in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities. 

Qualification and Experience


Minimum or Required: 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic, /Mechanical/ Electrical/Safety / Health and Safety or equivalent. with 6 years of Experience.
  • Saudi Council for Engineers Accreditation. 
  • Diploma or Certificate in CSP, NEBOSH, NFPA Specialist or OSHA.

Preferred:


Master’s Degree in Electronic, /Mechanical/ Electrical/Safety / Health and Safety or equivalent. with 4years of Experience.
