JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will be providing financial and decision making support to the Tornado Support Service delivery team, as well as ensuring the appropriate governance and controls are applied. The team works on KSA TSS contracts as well as a number of other ongoing Tornado contracts and new bids.
The senior project accountant supports our business lines by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis and assistance to project teams. The role provides an initial level of compliance and checks and balances oversight for project specific financial transactions. The senior project accountant will be responsible for the project billing process, which includes verifying project costs, contract terms, and coordination with the project management to ensure accurate and timely recording of all project revenue and costs.
This role will develop your ability to manage complex project accounting, which will provide you with the experience to progress your career within other finance areas within the Air sector.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Delivering all internal and external reporting requirements, including the production of monthly forecasts (including assumptions, risks and opportunities and detailed variance analysis), and reviewing and reconciling financial statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets
Supporting the Project Manager in producing robust Contract Status Reports (CSRs), Summary Status Report (SSR) for various projects, and Sales and Margin Trading Plans and Preparation and challenge of all phases of Integrated Business Plan (IBP)
Knowledge of BAE Systems processes and policies including a detailed knowledge of LCM
Attending relevant Project meetings providing challenge to ensure reliability of delivery information and assessing the financial impact
Focusing on maintaining and improving financial controls & performance through ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and advising non finance functions on their application
Ability to represent finance within multi-disciplinary teams. A confident, Self-starter who is able to challenge accordingly
Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business
Fully qualified accountant. Will typically have a degree or qualified by experience. Previous experience necessary in Project Accounting. Also some experience in financial accounting, financial planning and reporting and management accounting is required. Advanced Excel skills is required. TM1 and SAP experience would be desirable.
