Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Paralegal within our Intellectual Property Law Department of Saudi Aramco.



The Paralegal’s primary role is to support the performance of legal activities within the Intellectual Property Law Department and assist their assigned attorneys in the performance of their duties.
 


Saudi Aramco's Law Organization is growing in response to a broad corporate initiative that involves the continued growth of its exploration, production, refining and marketing, along with expansion into petrochemicals, renewables, power and other sectors of the energy business. Responsibilities
  • Patent docketing, including following Aramco patent process procedures and docketing new patent cases into docketing software.
  • Corresponding with inventors and obtaining the necessary formal documents required for patent application filing.
  • Conducting legal research, as appropriate. 
  • Providing a preliminary review of Invention Disclosure Forms, and categorizing them by technology.  
  • Supporting the attorneys with their review of Intellectual Property agreements.
  • Processing and reviewing invoices. 
  • Organizing, maintaining, managing and archiving files in the Aramco document management system.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned by the supervising attorneys.
     


Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other closely related field of study
  • A minimum of 9 years in Paralegal/legal assistant role at major international law firm/corporate legal dept.
  • A Paralegal Certification from a recognized national organization is highly preferred.   
  • Foundational knowledge in patent docketing.  This includes understanding of global patent filing procedures and experience with docketing software.
  • Proficiency in communicating in English, both written and spoken.  
  • Experience in the oil and gas, refining, chemicals, power or other energy-related industries is a plus.
