Job Description
Job Req Number: 92106
Time Type: Full time
Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Logistics Planer is responsible for developing logistics masterplan incorporating the planning, optimization, and connectivity of temporary assets with construction site. The role focuses on ensuring the effective integration of temporary infrastructure (e.g., roads, accommodations, earthworks, logistics areas) into the construction site, with a strong emphasis on the efficient flow of both people and cargo. The Logistics Master Planner will ensure the segregation of people traffic and cargo traffic, manage access control, and optimize transportation routes and land use to support the construction and operational needs of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Logistics masterplan design:
- Coordinate with package owners to ensure the effective connection of all temporary assets (e.g., roads, accommodations, earthworks, logistics areas, factories) to the construction site.
- Plan and optimize access routes between temporary asset areas and construction zones to ensure minimal delays and maximum efficiency.
- Ensure that all logistics zones/assets are strategically placed and well-connected to minimize transportation distances and disruptions to ongoing work.
- Access Control and Security:
- Incorporate robust access control systems for both people and cargo to regulate entry and exit points at temporary logistics hubs and construction zones.
- Plan and integrate secure entry/exit points for both personnel and materials, ensuring smooth logistics operations while maintaining safety and security standards.
- Land and Resource Optimization:
- Optimize land use for temporary assets, ensuring effective space management across construction zones, accommodation areas, and transport corridors.
- Coordinate with package owners to ensure that temporary logistics-related areas are utilized efficiently, reducing congestion and unnecessary handling of materials.
- Plan temporary storage and material staging areas to ensure continuous supply to construction zones without overburdening any specific area
- Route and Access Planning:
- Plan and optimize access routes, transportation corridors, and service routes to ensure efficient connectivity between temporary logistics zones and the construction site.
- Minimize transport time, congestion, and vehicle interaction with pedestrian pathways while maintaining safety and operational standards.
- Develop and coordinate traffic management strategies for the site to optimize vehicle and people flow, reducing delays and enhancing overall project efficiency.
- Coordination with Stakeholders and Package Owners:
- Collaborate closely with package owners, construction teams, and project managers to align logistics requirements with the overall project schedule.
- Ensure integration of temporary logistics infrastructure and land use with other project planning phases to ensure a seamless flow of materials and personnel.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders to address any potential conflicts or delays related to access and temporary logistics infrastructure.
- Risk Management and Contingency Planning:
- Proactively identify potential risks in temporary logistics operations, such as bottlenecks, safety hazards, or access issues, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Create contingency plans to address unforeseen disruptions, such as delays in asset delivery, extreme weather, or changes to the project scope.
- Develop safe, flexible, and responsive access routes and protocols that can adapt to changes in project requirements or unexpected events.
- Sustainability Integration:
- Ensure that logistics facilities and land use align with NEOM’s sustainability goals
- Coordinate with the environmental team to ensure that logistics plans are consistent with the project’s green building initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in logistics master planning and management, particularly in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders to optimize temporary logistics planning and ensure seamless integration.
