The Role


The Senior Manager – Digital Design Platform Product Owner will lead the development of digital design platforms on THE LINE Project. The Senior Manager will be responsible for defining the product vision and roadmaps, functional and non-functional requirements of digital design and engineering platforms and ensuring that they are delivered to meet these needs. The Senior Manager will work closely with and across a wide range of stakeholders in a complex environment with cross-functional and multi-organizational teams leading the delivery and enablement of the platforms in an agile and product-oriented manner.


Core Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish a clear vision for multiple digital platforms as part of a broader digital delivery service
  • Develop a roadmap that identifies key functional requirements and develops the initial plan to prioritize features, system architecture and technical feasibility.
  • Capture and document user requirements and maintain traceability of these requirements through to handover of the platform.
  • Prioritize features based on value and feasibility, ensuring development efforts are focused.
  • Develop and manage the roadmap, outlining timelines and key milestones for new features and updates.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams: end-users, clients, contractors, business operations, business improvement, software development, digital operations, design and engineering teams.
  • Work closely with the cross-functional teams to translate vision into actionable plans and delivery.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration between design, engineering, product management, and other stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to leadership, executives, and team members.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to product management team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Analyze user data and platform usage metrics to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for new features.
  • Lead all testing activities to demonstrate compliance to user requirements and to enable optimization of the platforms.
  • Stay up to date on digital design platform technology trends and advocate for integrating new functionalities that enhance user experience.

Core Requirements


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the AECOO industry; preferably a civil engineering background
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Digital Design & Engineering within AECOO industry
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Development and Delivery.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product ownership and management or a related discipline, demonstrating a history of successful leadership and ownership of complex software products.
  • Proven experience owning and delivering a digital product vision and roadmap
  • Proven experience of working within and delivering Common Data Environments, Digital Design, BIM, Asset Management and PLM systems such as ACC, Revitso, Datum360, Dassualt, Bentley ProjectWise, Navisworks, Aconex, ASite, ArchGIS
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) for managing product development lifecycles.
  • Experience in project management and business analysis

  • The ability to translate business goals into a clear and compelling product vision that aligns with user needs and market trends. You should be able to think strategically and see the big picture.
  • Expertise in crafting product roadmaps that prioritize features for maximum impact, considering user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
  • An advocate for user-centered design principles, with a strong understanding of the design workflow and the challenges faced by design professionals.
  • Familiarity with the functionalities, trends, and best practices of design platforms used by engineers and designers. Understanding the capabilities and limitations of these platforms is crucial.
  • A strong understanding of the engineering and construction industry, particularly THE LINE' client base, would be an asset. Knowing the specific needs of the users will help you prioritize features effectively.
  • Skilled in conducting user research to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement within the platform. You should be able to gather and analyze user data effectively.
  • Deep understanding of user experience (UX) principles and user interface (UI) best practices, advocating for user-centric design throughout the development process.
  • Experience with software and product testing and data-driven decision making for continuous product improvement.
  • Technical knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Business acumen and an understanding of how the digital design platform contributes to THE LINE' overall business goals.
  • Experience in Design Authoring, Computation Design, BIM Management, BIM QA/QC,
  • GIS, 3D Spatial, Digital Twin, Virtual Build and Simulation & Analysis solutions
  • PMIS solutions like P6, Unifier and Enablon
