Role Summary:


The Senior Logistics Engineer, GIS will support the Logistics Master Planner in the development of technical drawings and spatial data management for the LINE project. This includes producing, analyzing, and optimizing GIS data, AutoCAD drawings, KMZ files, and other geospatial resources for the logistics masterplan. The Senior Logstics Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that all logistics-related infrastructure, such as roads, accommodation areas, earthworks, and temporary logistics zones, are accurately mapped and well-integrated into the master planning process. As an GIS expert , one would be responsible for  providing essential spatial data for decision-making and logistical optimization, enabling the project to progress smoothly and efficiently.


Responsibilities:


  1. Development of Technical Drawings and Spatial Data:
    • Collaborate with the Logistics Master Planner to develop accurate and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, GIS platforms, and other spatial tools.
    • Create, manage, and update GIS data layers for logistics assets, including roads, construction zones, accommodation areas, earthworks, and logistics hubs.
    • Generate and convert data to produce technical outputs such as AutoCAD drawings, KMZ files, and other visual representations of the logistics infrastructure.
  2. Geospatial Analysis and Data Management:
    • Analyze and interpret geospatial data to assist in the planning and optimization of logistics operations.
    • Provide insights from spatial data to optimize land use, identify potential logistical bottlenecks, and assist in decision-making processes.
    • Ensure accurate mapping and management of all logistics-related infrastructure to ensure efficient integration with construction and operational planning.
  3. Support with Logistics Optimization:
    • Work closely with the Logistics Master Planner to identify and implement GIS solutions that support the optimization of transportation routes, access points, and material flow.
    • Assist in developing spatially optimized layouts and plans for temporary logistics assets, ensuring the efficient use of land and the minimization of traffic congestion.
    • Support in the creation of reports and presentations for key stakeholders, ensuring accurate representation of logistics data and plans.
  4. Creation and Maintenance of KMZ Files:
    • Develop, maintain, and update KMZ files to represent logistics infrastructure and operations within the GIS platform, ensuring that the data is compatible with other project management tools.
    • Work with the Logistics Master Planner to integrate the KMZ files into project management systems and coordinate the sharing of data with the broader project team.
    • Ensure that all GIS files are stored and shared in a secure and accessible manner for team collaboration and decision-making.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare GIS-based reports, technical documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders, ensuring that all data is clearly visualized and accessible.
    • Support the preparation of progress reports related to logistics planning and spatial data integration, ensuring that all necessary information is conveyed to senior management and project teams.
    • Document processes, workflows, and best practices for future reference and project consistency.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:


    • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in GIS-based planning, spatial analysis, and technical drawing production, preferably in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
    • Strong experience using AutoCAD, GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), and other related software for spatial data creation and technical drawing development.
    • Experience in working with KMZ, KML, and other geospatial data formats for integration into project management and planning tools.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar GIS and CAD software for creating and editing technical drawings and spatial data.
    • Strong knowledge of geospatial data management, including data conversion, map creation, and geospatial analysis.
    • Ability to create and manage spatial data layers and integrate GIS data with project management tools and systems.
    • Experience with databases and software for storing and sharing spatial data securely.
    • Certification in GIS (e.g., Esri ArcGIS certification) or AutoCAD (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional) is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical GIS concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, presentations, and visualizations for stakeholders.
