Job Description
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and proactive Logistics Expeditor to join our team and drive efficient coordination and communication across the logistics workflow. This role is essential for maintaining timely and accurate tracking of all shipments, facilitating clear communication between contractors, procurement, and project logistics teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics and procurement processes, experience with online tracking systems, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Logistics Team: To streamline processes, update shipment statuses, and ensure clear communication across teams.
- Track and Monitor Shipments: Continuously monitor all shipments from dispatch to delivery, coordinating with contractors, the procurement team, and the project logistics team to ensure timely arrivals and address any potential delays.
- Communication and Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact between contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for shipment status updates, ensuring all parties are informed and issues are resolved promptly.
- Detailed Shipment Tracking: Create, maintain, and update detailed records for each shipment, including tracking numbers, timelines, and relevant documentation, ensuring that the information is accurate and accessible at all times.
- Utilize Online Tracking Systems: Efficiently use online tracking and logistics management systems to monitor shipment locations, update records, and streamline reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare, verify, and manage all necessary documents to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Inventory and Order Management: Work with the inventory team to monitor stock levels, coordinate restocking when necessary, and ensure that all inventory aligns with project requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Promptly resolve any logistical issues, minimizing disruption and finding immediate solutions to keep the supply chain running smoothly.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Regularly update logistics databases, generate accurate reports, and provide insights on performance metrics to help improve overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, procurement, or expediting.
- Knowledge of logistics, procurement processes, and familiarity with the operational flow of these fields.
- Proficiency in online tracking systems and logistics management software (Preferably EDC, Micro-transport)
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP or other logistics systems is a plus.
