It all began with a tiny sesame seed,, ground into paste, known as Tahina, and with added sugar and spices, it became, Halawa, a delicious Eastern dish. In the beginning there was… Halwani – the halawa maker. Today, as an international company, renowned for the quality of its products, we have never forgotten our humble beginnings and the pioneering spirit that helped us grow. By 1979, the company was producing 24 tons of Halawa each day, using the latest current technology. Still not content, we refined and developed roasting ovens and peeling and grinding machines to our own design, protected by international patent. This led to our taking part in several international machinery fairs and orders for our machines from all over the world. Today, thanks to even more sophisticated equipment, production capacity has risen to 50 tons of Tahina and 65 tons of Halawa daily – unsurpassed by other producer in the world. The origin of our company goes back to the beginning of the 19th century, when we were established as makers of Tahina and Halawa. In 1952 the company was officially incorporated. Pioneers in the food industry, we are today one of the best-known food manufacturers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By the will of Allah and thanks to the generous support of King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his predecessors we can now count our firm among the leaders in the Kingdom. For generations, our products have stood for trust and quality among consumers and from this has come our impressive growth. Five years ago we moved into a new phase of our growth, when the company was restructed to combine modern marketing skills and management techniques with existing quality standards.
