Responsibilities
His responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Develops and maintains GIS applications to support geospatial data and intelligence products
•Ensures that all GIS applications are optimized and user-friendly while meeting the applicable geospatial data standards and policies
•Collaborates with other geospatial specialists to integrate GIS applications into geospatial products
•Applies analytical and programming skills to develop optimal GIS applications
•Monitors GIS applications development processes to ensure quality and timeliness
•Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of GIS applications development platforms and tools.
Job Requirements:
The post holder will have the following background:
•Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field
•Certificate in GIS
Skills
•Strong knowledge of GIS application development principles and technologies
•Knowledge of data management and database systems
•Familiarity with geospatial data standards and policies
•Strong analytical and programming skills
•Experience in developing GIS applications for various platforms, including desktop, web, and mobile
•Strong verbal, and written communication skills
•Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers
Software Skills:
•ArcGlS Pro, ArcGlS Desktop, QGIS, GeoServer
•Python, R, SQL, JavaScript
Experience required:
•10+ years of experience in GIS applications development roles.
