3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Description
• Evaluate and troubleshoot Electrical issues, performance problems to improve mean time repair (MTTR), mean time between failure (MTBF) and increase equipment availability.
• Provide and conduct technical support for Electrical to enhance preventive maintenance strategies, checks, along with predictive maintenance strategies and Operation-based maintenance checks.
• Evaluate new technologies, best practices and alternatives for equipment repair, improvement and come up with the optimum decision.
• Provides Electrical technical support.
• Identifies and develops strategies to ELIMINATE repetitive and major FAILURES for Electrical system and equipment.
• Develop LONG-TERM opportunities for improvement Electrical equipment reliability and availability through applying reliability methodology.
• Identifies and priorities EQUIPMENT CRITICALITY current capability vs bottlenecks/gaps/loss/high-cost contributors to the area.
• Defines, develops and (PMO) OPTIMSES PREVENTATIVE (PM) & PREDICTIVE (PdM) maintenance strategies / technologies / quality / frequency to provide the most cost effective outcome for the business.
• Analyses OEE data collected by Operations, use data to pareto and help establish PRIORITIES to identify and target equipment bad-actors
• Analyse equipment CMMS performance data, equipment history, to identity repetitive and/or costly failure occurrences.
• Understands cost of failures for critical equipment and uses this to identify critical equipment.
• Applies advanced reliability-based tools and processes to investigate to ROOT CAUSE (RCA) equipment failures and provide recommendations for elimination, ensuring corrective actions are linked back to equipment strategies.
• Plays an active role in fostering change and innovation to support the achievement of cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities supporting the continuous improvement process to achieve the organization’s production, cost and quality objectives.
• Developing QA/QC for Electrical work
• Optimizing mill processes and reducing process variability through application of precision maintenance principles
• Analyses equipment failure data

The Reliability Engineer is required to participate actively and work closely with colleagues to integrate Electrical system effectively and contribute to a culture innovation and success.
6. JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY):
• Achieve Plan KPI’s and drive continuous improvement;
• Provides Day-to-Day Technical Advice to Operations & Maintenance;
• Ensure the application of Engineering Standards and the equipment Statutory Compliance;
• Maintain EHS compliance with all applicable regulations;
• Develop technical competencies in Technicians, Supervisors and Operators;
• Ensure global smelting process effectiveness by working closely with other departments’ technical team and operations.
7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• B.Sc. degree in electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering activities preferred mining field.
• Working knowledge of international standards.
• Familiar with the use of computers for engineering applications.
