Overview We are seeking a Sedimentology Petrographer to join the Gas Reservoir Characterization Department. The Gas Reservoir Characterization Department is responsible for providing characterization and assessment of oil resources of developed fields at the highest definition required through building and maintaining always-ready integrated earth models to assess and update all in-place oil resources, support the optimization of oil field development and ensure excellence in well placement. As a Sedimentology Petrographer you will be responsible to analyze physical samples (core, cuttings and outcrop), including petrographic slides, orthoscopic and conoscopic observation.
Key Responsibilities As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

Rock samples selection to characterize rock heterogeneity
Petrographic slide description and interpretation and slide quality control
Data integration and modeling.
Calibration with lab results such as: MICP, XRF, etc.
Interpretation of rock properties.
Collaborating effectively with other team members within a multidisciplinary Group. 
Ongoing collaboration with industry leaders on the evolution of new petrographic techniques and technologies.
Conduct reservoir diagenesis studies using both petrographic and integrated approaches.
Preparing project reports that cover planning, data inventory, analysis, results, summaries, recommendations, and presentations.
Reviewing current and past project reports, as well as internal and external data acquisition and analysis results.

Minimum Requirements As a successful candidate you will hold a:

Bachelor’s in Earth Science (Geology-Sedimentology, Petroleum Geology). An advanced degree is a plus. 
Minimum of 15 years of experience including at least 5 years of experience on challenging petrography and diagenesis investigations (technique of description and characterization of rocks), preferably related to reservoir characterization, evaluation and/or modeling. 
Experience in siliciclastic petrology, diagenesis, and reservoir quality analysis.  
Proven track record in relevant discipline as evidenced by previous work -main investigator-such as: publications in the peer-reviewed scientific literature/conferences, etc. 
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative micro scale analysis, including: reservoir diagenesis modeling, and diagenetic influence on reservoir characteristics.  
Expertise in acquisition, Quality Control (QC), and use of core-derived petrophysical properties (special and standard).
Geological software skills (Petrel, Geolog, OpenWorks / DSS) is a plus. 
Core to wireline log data integration and interpretation.
