Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Saudi National ONLY)

Position Overview
The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will support the project’s OHS activities, ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are implemented and adhered to across the project site. This position is reserved for Saudi nationals in compliance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's regulatory requirements for Saudization.
Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local regulations and project safety standards.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and make recommendations for preventive measures.
- Maintain records of all safety-related incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions taken.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards associated with project activities.
- Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks and regularly review these measures for effectiveness.
- Training and Awareness:
- Organize safety training sessions for site personnel to enhance awareness and compliance with OHS standards.
- Develop and deliver safety toolbox talks, ensuring that team members understand and adhere to safety requirements.
- Document Control:
- Ensure that all safety documentation, including permits, inspection records, and training logs, are accurately maintained and easily accessible.
- Coordination with Project Team:
- Collaborate closely with other team members, including engineers and supervisors, to integrate OHS practices into project activities.
- Participate in project meetings and provide OHS updates, ensuring the safety requirements are integrated into project plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not essential.
- Certifications:
- NEBOSH IGC (or equivalent) is preferred.
- IOSH, IRRSM, or an equivalent OHS certification is optional but considered an asset.
- Professional Membership: Membership with recognized OHS bodies such as IOSH is optional.
- Experience:
- Total OHS Experience: 2-5 years in a similar role, ideally within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Knowledge of local OHS regulations and project compliance requirements specific to Saudi Arabia.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Saudi health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate safety protocols effectively to diverse project teams.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact professionally with project stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- Nationality: Saudi National (as per local regulatory requirements).
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic and English skills are desirable.
