Job Title: SAS Technical Support 


Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Summary: 


We are seeking a skilled SAS Technical Support professional to join our team in Riyadh. The role involves providing technical support for a variety of SAS applications used within the bank, including SAS FATCA/CRS, SAS ECM, SAS IFRS9, SAS Basel4, SAS GCM, and SAS AML. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the stability and performance of SAS systems, providing troubleshooting support, and ensuring the smooth functioning of SAS applications across all environments. The role requires fluency in both English and Arabic and a willingness to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 


Key Responsibilities: 


Technical Support for SAS Applications: 


  • Provide ongoing technical support for SAS FATCA/CRS, SAS ECM, SAS IFRS9, SAS Basel4, SAS GCM, and SAS AML applications. 
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues related to the SAS environment, including batch processing, job scheduling, and application failures. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya, ensuring that all systems function properly across all environments. 
  • Assist in system configuration, testing, and deployment of new SAS solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. 

Performance Optimization and Issue Resolution: 


  • Proactively monitor and resolve performance issues, including slow report generation, job failures, or system crashes. 
  • Troubleshoot SAS application errors, identify the root cause of issues, and take necessary actions to resolve them in a timely manner. 
  • Coordinate with developers and other technical teams to fix issues and improve system performance. 

Application Maintenance and Updates: 


  • Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to SAS applications and related environments to ensure they are secure and up-to-date. 
  • Perform routine maintenance, backups, and system checks to ensure system reliability. 
  • Document issues and solutions, ensuring knowledge sharing for recurring issues and better support processes. 

User Support and Training: 


  • Provide support and guidance to internal users experiencing difficulties with SAS applications, including troubleshooting system access or data-related issues. 
  • Train end-users in the use of SAS applications and workflows as required, ensuring they understand system functionalities. 
  • Assist in creating training materials and knowledge bases for users and technical staff. 

Collaboration and Communication: 


  • Work closely with business analysts, developers, and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues. 
  • Communicate technical problems and solutions clearly to non-technical staff in both English and Arabic. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the smooth integration and operation of SAS solutions within the bank's ecosystem. 

Skills and Capabilities Required: 


Technical Skills: 


  • SAS Programming: Proficient in Base SAS and Advanced SAS programming for troubleshooting, script optimization, and debugging. 
  • SAS System Administration: Experience with SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya, including server management, job scheduling, and user access management. 
  • SAS Integration: Experience with SAS Data Integration Studio and related tools for managing SAS workflows. 
  • SAS Reporting: Understanding of SAS Visual Analytics and its configuration, troubleshooting, and user support. 
  • Database Skills: Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL to help resolve data issues and support database-related queries. 
  • Web Application Support: Basic understanding of Java and JSP to troubleshoot and support SAS web-based applications. 

Operating Systems: 


  • Linux/Unix/Windows: Experience working with Linux/Unix/Windows environments, including basic shell scripting and troubleshooting issues related to the operating system. 

Language Skills: 


  • Fluency in English and Arabic: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Arabic (both written and verbal) for supporting diverse teams and stakeholders. 

Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in SAS technical support or a similar role with experience supporting SAS-based applications. 
  • Knowledge of SAS 9.4, SAS Viya, SAS Data Integration Studio, and other SAS tools. 
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing support for regulatory applications like SAS FATCA/CRS, SAS IFRS9, SAS Basel4, and SAS AML. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve technical issues. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to resolve issues efficiently. 
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
