Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented SAS Application Developer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This role is critical in supporting and enhancing various SAS applications used within the bank, including SAS FATCA/CRS, SAS ECM, SAS IFRS9, SAS Basel4, SAS GCM, and SAS AML. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of SAS-based solutions, including creating and optimizing SAS programs, improving system performance, providing application support, and making necessary enhancements to meet both business and regulatory needs.
As the role requires communication with diverse teams and stakeholders, fluency in both English and Arabic is required. The successful candidate should also be willing to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development and Enhancements:
- Develop, enhance, and support various SAS-based applications (SAS FATCA/CRS, ECM, IFRS9, Basel4, GCM, and AML).
- Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable SAS code for data processing, reporting, and analytical applications.
- Implement small enhancements or modifications to meet new business requirements or regulatory changes.
- Design and develop data workflows and processes for handling large financial datasets within SAS applications.
SAS Application Configuration:
- Configure and optimize SAS applications, including SAS Viya and SAS 9.4, to ensure they meet business needs and run efficiently.
- Develop and configure new reports, dashboards, and alerts using SAS Visual Analytics.
- Perform system updates, testing, and configuration changes to ensure all SAS applications are aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Support for Regulatory Applications:
- Develop and manage applications supporting SAS FATCA/CRS compliance, SAS ECM for case management, SAS IFRS9 for ECL modeling, SAS Basel4 for risk management, SAS GCM for governance and compliance, and SAS AML for anti-money laundering activities.
- Provide application support to ensure that all regulatory reporting processes are correctly implemented and functioning as expected.
Performance and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues with SAS applications, optimizing code and processes for better performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SAS programming, batch processes, and system configurations.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide timely solutions for any system failures or errors.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with business analysts, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Document SAS code, system configurations, and application enhancements to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Maintain and update technical documentation for SAS applications, including workflows, data models, and user guides.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Provide training and guidance to other teams, ensuring proper understanding of SAS applications and best practices.
- Assist in the development of user training materials and provide ongoing support to internal users of SAS applications.
Skills and Capabilities Required:
Technical Skills:
- SAS Programming: Proficient in Base SAS and Advanced SAS, including Macros, to develop complex data processes and reporting solutions.
- SAS Integration: Experience with SAS Data Integration Studio for creating, managing, and deploying data integration jobs.
- SAS Environment: Expertise in configuring and managing SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya environments, including user access, job scheduling, and server management.
- SAS Reporting: Experience in building reports and dashboards using SAS Visual Analytics to support business intelligence and regulatory reporting needs.
- SAS Regulatory Applications: Knowledge of regulatory applications like SAS FATCA/CRS, SAS IFRS9, SAS Basel4, and SAS AML.
- SAS Batch Process Management: Proficient in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting batch processes and scheduled jobs within SAS.
- Database Skills: Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL for database integration, querying, and data management.
- SAS Web Applications: Knowledge of Java and JSP for troubleshooting and addressing issues with SAS web applications.
Operating Systems:
- Linux/Unix/Windows: Experience working with Linux/Unix/Windows environments, including basic shell scripting and troubleshooting.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English and Arabic: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Arabic, including written and verbal communication. This is essential for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in SAS development and working with SAS-based applications.
- Familiarity with Basel III/IV and IFRS9 regulations as they pertain to SAS solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
