Role - SAP ABAP Principal Consultant
Job SummaryAn SAP ABAP Principal Consultant is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom SAP applications using ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming). This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional consultants, and other technical teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions that meet business requirements.Skills- 15+ years of expertise to lead and deliver technical solutions for our SAP projects
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of SAP ABAP technical solutions, including RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions align with business requirements.
- Mastery of ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP), enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, and SmartForms.
- Proficiency in advanced technologies such as CDS Views, OData services, SAP Gateway, and Fiori integration.
- Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of SAP programs.
- SAP ABAP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology is an advantage.
Responsibilities- Design, code, and test SAP ABAP programs and applications.
- Provide thought leadership on technical best practices, SAP standards, and emerging trends in SAP development.
- Create and modify SAP scripts, forms, and reports (SAPscript, SmartForms, Adobe Forms).
- Develop custom enhancements using ABAP, such as user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, and enhancements spots.
- Develop interfaces using ALE, IDOCs, RFC, and other integration technologies.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Create detailed technical design documents for new developments and enhancements.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing SAP applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the SAP environment.
- Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with SAP coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct unit testing and support integration testing activities.
- Debug ABAP programs to identify and fix defects.
- Optimize ABAP code for performance improvements.
- Analyze system performance issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with SAP functional teams, project managers, and business users
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
