Job Purpose

The High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Quality Control and Testing Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and testing processes for HVDC systems and components. The role ensures that all products meet the required technical, safety, and regulatory standards through comprehensive testing, inspections, and quality control procedures. This position is critical in managing testing teams, implementing quality protocols, and driving continuous improvements to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality HVDC solutions.




Key Accountability Areas
  • Quality Control Oversight: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality control procedures for HVDC systems and components, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, etc.).
  • Testing and Inspection: Oversee all testing activities related to HVDC systems, including design validation, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and functional performance tests. Ensure that all testing is carried out according to predefined procedures and specifications.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all HVDC systems and components meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards, maintaining compliance with industry best practices and guidelines. This includes performing regular audits and reviews of processes, products, and systems.
  • Team Leadership and Training: Manage and train the quality control and testing teams to ensure high standards of quality and performance are maintained. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and documentation related to quality control, testing results, non-conformances, and corrective actions. Provide regular updates to senior management on quality metrics, test results, and process improvements.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: Lead investigations into quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions to resolve defects and prevent recurrence. Work closely with engineering and production teams to implement these actions.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Monitor and evaluate the quality of materials, components, and services from suppliers and vendors. Ensure that all materials meet quality standards before use in the HVDC systems and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in testing methods, processes, and product quality. Drive initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, reduce defects, and improve the overall quality of HVDC products

  • Provide periodic work progress reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development:


  • Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

Business Process Improvements:


  • Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
  • Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Any relevant field
