Job Description

The QA Manager is a critical function within the QA team.  Reporting directly to the QA Director, you’ll collaborate closely with the external deployment project manager, producer, product manager, external dev team QA, and the Engineering teams to ensure best in class test coverage for the game teams’ projects.You’re a master of communication, bug finding wizard, and test case management specialist - able to both lead coordinate a legion of testers with delegated tasks as well as roll up your sleeves to take on the solo mission of assisting our cross-functional teams as an autonomous, expert QA specialist.


Responsibilities


Game Team Management:


  • Manage multiple game teams/projects, mainly related to Functionality and Compliance QA, but also other services as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships with game team personnel
  • Responsible for game team ‘account management’
  • Participate in and lead proposal efforts where necessary, including completing project scoping
  • Set and manage game team expectations appropriately
  • Be able to find the best possible solutions to game team requests
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase game team satisfaction and deepen game team relationships
  • Report project statuses and information to management team on a regular basis
  • Accountable for the Project Post Mortem call with the game team at the end of project (first submission or when required)

Team Handling:


  • Provide relevant and thorough briefings to project teams
  • Track project progress in conjunction with project teams
  • Implement any process changes/improvements accordingly
  • Hold weekly status meetings with project team
  • Plan, apply and adapt project test strategies with the support of the  Project Leads and QA leads
  • Manage, lead and motivate Project Leads and QA Leads

Training and Mentoring:


  • Responsible of the development of the talent / people
  • Ensure that skill assessment activity is conducted by the respective PMs and QA Leads
  • Ensure the valid training is devised based on the gaps identified Measure effectiveness of training. Correct or modify the training program to make it most efficient and meaningful
  • Mentor and train new project leads and QA Leads
  • Provide real time performance feedback to Leads
  • Provide quarterly evaluation feedback to Project Managers and QA Leads, or more frequently as needed
  • Ensure that training modules are up to date
  • Help identify areas where training material may need revision

Project Management Supervision:


  • Review the projects’ variances and issues with the PMs and manage their resolution in a timely fashion
  • Track project progress in conjunction with project milestones and requirements
  • Primary point of contact for internal queries raised by the Leads/PMs
  • Resolve conflicts/issues and escalate to others as appropriate, including IT related issues and help tickets

Project Health/Performance:


  • Accountable for successful completion of projects across game teams
  • Accountable for KPIs (devising, institutionalizing, tracking and improving) across games/projects
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing KPIs/Data across projects and maintaining organization wide metrics
  • Ensure that learning/new best practice from one game/project is implemented across all projects (if applicable)
