Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage our purchasing and procurement operations on a tramway project. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in purchasing and procurement, with a strong track record of managing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and requirements.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Purchasing Operations:
- Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, ordering, and delivery of goods and services.
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of purchase orders and resolve any issues related to procurement.
Cost Management:
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce procurement costs.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions in procurement and supply chain management.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier correspondence.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the procurement department.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement activities and vendor relationships.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba). Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
