Job summary



MISSION:



Responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that enhance the company’s reputation within the energy industry. The ideal candidate will bring experience in the energy sector, exceptional media relations skills, and the ability to communicate complex information to a diverse audience, including stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the public. This role is pivotal in supporting the company’s branding, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement efforts.

TASKS:



Strategic Communications: Develop and implement PR strategies that align with the company’s business goals and enhance its reputation within the energy sector. Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with energy journalists, industry publications, and media outlets; manage press releases, media pitches, and interviews. Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal stakeholders (including executives and department heads) to ensure alignment of PR activities with business objectives. Engage with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, to foster positive relationships. Content Creation: Draft, edit, and oversee the creation of press releases, articles, speeches, and other content that communicates the company’s initiatives, values, and market position. Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans. Act as a spokesperson during times of crises or negative publicity, ensuring timely and accurate information is shared. Event Management: Plan and coordinate public events, media briefings, and industry conferences to elevate the company’s presence within the energy sector. Social Media Management: Oversee social media strategy, content, and engagement to enhance public image and foster community engagement. Market Monitoring: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to provide strategic insights and prepare the company for shifts in the market. Reporting & Analysis: Measure and report the effectiveness of PR campaigns, track media coverage, and analyze sentiment to inform future strategies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (General Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent).
