The Engineering Lead for Construction Delivery shall be responsible to lead the construction engineering planning, engineering reviews and interfacing throughout the works. They shall also be required to assist the other construction teams in any engineering matters as required. The Engineering Lead shall lead the Construction Engineering Team throughout the works to establish the best engineering practices on site at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly reporting to the Head of Marina Construction, the Project Engineering Lead:
- Ensure the works are carried out on site to the highest safety standards as required by NEOM
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify the project objectives and deliverables for the areas managed
- Ensure timely delivery of all documentation required for the engineering aspects of the works
- Ensure coordination of the engineering works for the construction of The Marina Works aligns with the requirements of the Marina Modules
- Work closely with the wider Marina teams to ensure coordination of all works covered
- Review work plans and options produced by the pre-contract team and comment accordingly. Follow up on these comments and ensure items are included
- Liaise with the Health Safety and Welfare (HSW) team to ensure the work plans and engineering requirements align with the HSW requirements for NEOM
- Assist the Construction Logistics Team in preparing site establishment plans and works
- Produce outline detailed work package plans to allow detailed scheduling of the works to be undertaken
- Ensure work plans align to allow smooth flow of work on site
- Liaise with Package Contractors to establish detailed work plans and methodologies
- Work with Package Contractors to establish programme plans
- Input into the Project Control team on Marina programme requirements
- Review contractor submittals and comment accordingly
- Lead the Construction Engineering Team in review of submittals and proposals
- Advise the Construction Works Delivery Team on engineering matters
- Ensure implementation of all NEOM standards and procedures on site during works execution
- Report on all engineering matters on a regular basis
- Undertake regular reviews of the Construction Engineering Team staff and provide feedback to the Head of Marina Construction.
Background, skills & qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the engineering design and/or construction industry with increasing responsibility in engineering and construction leadership with recent experience in a Marine environment.
- Engineering and/or leadership experience in KSA or wider Middle East
- Knowledge of construction management software, such as Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera P6 Professional
- Experience with construction project scheduling and budgeting
- Experience with managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Experience with construction safety and quality control
- Experience with contract administration
- Experience with leading and motivating teams

Qualifications
