Job Description

  • Ensure effective cascading of Design & Engineering strategy into operating plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.
  • Manage the effective achievement of Design & Engineering objectives through effective leadership and by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating teams to maximize performance.
  • Lead the talent development initiatives for Design & Engineering, collaborating with discipline experts and thereby ensuring the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
  • Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of Engineering department to ensure the establishment of a value-driven culture within the organization.
  • Oversee the consolidation and recommend the Design & Engineering budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Oversee the entire Engineering life cycle, from conceptualization to delivery, through planning effectively, coordinating with stakeholders, performing quality control, and reviewing engineering deliverables to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of the projects while meeting its objectives and adhering to established timelines and budgets.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure that project objectives are clearly defined, and project engineering needs, requirements, and specifications are correctly understood.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of engineering projects, considering technical, financial, and resource constraints to establish if a project is viable and aligns with the organization's goals and vision.
  • Provide direction and leadership expertise to the preparation, scheduling, and coordination of assigned engineering projects to ensure that projects run according to plan.
  • Act as an Engineering advisor by offering technical expertise and guidance to project teams to facilitate the effective progress of the projects, resolve any escalated issues, and ensure that deliverables adhere to industry best practices.
  • Provide overall direction to the planning, organization, and coordination of various aspects of Nesma & Partners' engineering design projects to provide oversight for the proper design of each type of project assigned and ensure their successful execution and delivery.
  •  Oversee the successful management of the design process from concept development to the final implementation, considering factors such as technical requirements, budget, timelines, and quality standards to ensure that engineering and design projects are executed efficiently and effectively, resulting in high-quality deliverables that meet the project's objectives and client requirements.
  • Guide and direct the development of environmental plans during the design phase to ensure that all designs are in adherence with Nesma & Partners and international standards of environmental policies and procedures.
  • Review and direct the evaluation of approved designs to ensure compliance with the overall project design vision and the international design standards and guidelines.
  • Oversee and champion the successful implementation of relevant approved design standards, controls, and risk-assessment measures to maximize the effectiveness of project design processes. Monitor the progress of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to architectural design, to determine if relevant design practices and standards are adhered to across project lifecycles.
